متن کاملCTArcade : Learning Computational Thinking While Training AI Through Game Play
In this paper we describe a web application framework for developing games that teach users about computational thinking and the preliminary research that led to its creation. CTArcade was developed to be the foundation for a library of several challenging games that engage the users’ innate computational thinking (CT) skills. These skills are employed when the users are asked to teach an artif...
متن کاملThe Thinking Styles of University Mathematics Students
In this paper, we focus on the relationship between studying university mathematics and the ‘thinking styles’ of both undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics students. A crosssectional quantitative study (N = 238) was conducted in a large Greek university, identifying the thinking styles of second, third and fourth year undergraduates, as well as those of students following a postgraduate de...

متن کاملGender differences in students' mathematics game playing
The investigation monitored the digital game-playing behaviours of 428 primary-aged students (aged 10-12 years). Chi square analysis revealed that boys tend to spend more time playing digital games than girls while boys and girls play quite different game genres. Subsequent analysis revealed statistically significant gender differences in terms of the types of mathematics-rich games students pr...
